IT was all too comfortable for Armagh City as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Banbridge Town last Tuesday night.

And it was a walk in the park for City who were a class above Colin Malone's visiting outfit.

City were always on top and could easi
ly have scored six goals on a night when Banbridge's poor discipline let them down badly.

They had two players - Conor Larkin and Philip Derby - sent off in either half and should have lost Seamus Kane as well when he was booked twice but referee Lee Tavinder failed to follow the second yellow with a red card.

Indeed it was a night when the referee's card dominated the night with a total of 14 yellows flashed - five to City and nine to Banbridge.

City got off to an impressive start and came close to taking the lead on eight minutes when Peter McNeill's cross found Shea Campbell but the striker's first-time shot was just wide of the mark.

But it didn't take long for City to take the lead as McCone struck four minutes later.

McNeill's free kick found Campbell but his shot came back off the post and fell to Latimer who crossed to the back post for McCone to hammer home.

City 'keeper McFrederick had to be alert to palm away Paul Keenan's dangerous cross moments later while on 19 minutes and early cross from McCone found Campbell but again the striker failed to convert his chance.

Banbridge were creating little in way of attacking opportunities but they did have a half chance on 23 minutes when Dale Malone's cross in from the right was headed just wide by Aidan McVeigh.

Meidus made a vital block deep inside his own box on 25 minutes to deny McVeigh, and that block porved vital as City doubled their lead nine minutes from the break.

Campbell had his shirt tugged inside the box and after referee Tavinder awarded the penalty kick, Campbell stepped up to slot in the second.

Banbridge's night got worse two minutes from time when they were reduced to 10 men after Conor Larkin was shown his second yellow of the game.

The second half got off to the perfect start for City as they added their third goal within a minute of the restart.

Again it was McNeill's cross that caused all the danger and McParland popped up at the back post to score, capping off his first start of the season.

McFrederick had to be alert on 52 minutes when he had to tip Barry Tumilty's effort from distance over the top while on 63 minutes Timmy Grant blasted over the top while unmarked in the six-yard box in what was the best chance of the night for the Town.

On 73 minutes McParland almost added City's fourth with a fine diving header that was just wide while five minutes from time Banbridge were reduced to nine men when Derby was shown his second yellow.

Minutes later the visitors should have been down to eight men when Kane was given his second booking but red failed to follow yellow and he was allowed to finish the game.
