BANBRIDGE AFC went into their game against Richhill in a determined mood to make amends for their previous weeks result against Omagh United.

The local side started the better of the to teams and even in the torrential rain created at least five g
ood goal scoring chances in the first 20 minutes. A mixture of great saves from the Richhill keeper and poor finishing by the AFC players kept the match level.

Then half an hour into the game the Banbridge team finally found the net another shot was blocked by the away keeper only for the ball to fall nicely to Spiers whose lob gave their keeper no chance.

Just before half time with AFC in total control of the game a corner from Richhill somehow found its way into the net leaving the match all square at half-time.

The second half started just like the first with the Banbridge men playing all the football but missing countless chances in front of goal.

Then on the hour just when it looked like it was going to be one of those days for AFC, a good cross from Buchanan and a firm head by Gartland gave the local men the lead they deserved.

Ten minutes later it was 3-1 when Conlon slid in to force the ball home after Richhill failed to clear the ball.

AFC weren't finished yet and were on the hunt for more goals which they got just befor full time. McKay finally got on the score sheet when the keeper couldn't hold onto Conlon's shot and he was there to tap in at close range giving the locals a 4-1 victory.

Best for AFC were McAlinden, Casey and Gartland. Next week AFC are away to AFC Craigavon.
