Conditions improved dramatically in the afternoon and a fourteen holes sweep was hurriedly arranged. That proved to be a popular decision, especially for Joe E. Hamilton and J
ohn McCartan, who won their respective sections.

Section 15+ - 1st, John McCartan (28) 33; 2nd, Connor Mulholland (16) 31; 3rd, Aidan Lavery (16) 31.
SUNDAY AUGUST. 10 - Damian Weir played the nine holes of the Sunday Sweep in one under par gross. He notched up his second win of the season in this competition.
1st, Damian Weir (5) Nett 32.5; 2nd, Mel Hamill (18) Nett 34.
MONDAY AUGUST 11 - The big winner in this sweep was Bill McCandless who recorded the only two of the day and went home with a small fortune. Full marks to Adam Kerr who shot the best score over the 14 holes.
1st, Adam Kerr (13) 34; 2nd, Colin McKinney (16) 31; 3rd, Neil Diamond (11) 30.
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13 - Young William Malcolmson is certainly playing good golf during the summer holidays. This is the third time that he has won his section in the Wednesday sweep.
It was the first win for young Jonathan Lennon and he was well pleased. And so too was his mother.
Senior Handicaps - 1st, William Malcolmson (15) 43. Junior Handicaps - 1st, Jonathan Lennon (35) 45; 2nd, Josh Lockhart (17) 44.
THURSDAY AUGUST 14 - Alan Dale and Stuart Hunter both went home happy after this sweep. Alan was placed first and he had one two. Stuart was placed second and he had two twos. Between the two of them they took away 90% of the prize money.
1st, Alan Dale (12) 36 points; 2nd, Stuart Hunter (6) 34; 3rd, Adam Kerr (13) 34.

THREE of the semi-finalists in the Matchplay Championship have been decided.
Hugo Downey, a former champion, beat Conrad Smith 3 and 2 and he will play Neil Comiskey in the first semi-final. Neil had a surprisingly easy win over Alan Caughey in the quarterfinal by 8 and 6.
Terry Diamond is also through to the semi-final after beating Cameron Morton 4 and 3. He now awaits the result of the other quarterfinal match between Seamus Rooney and Paul Magennis.
DAVID PLAYS PAUL IN THE HAUGHTON SMYTH CUP FINAL.
THE final of the Haughton Smyth Cup will be between Paul Magennis and David McComb.
In the semi-finals, Paul knocked out the holder, Christopher Quinn, at the first tie hole while David had a marvellous 6 and 5 win over Neil Madeley.
Paul Magennis would be the favourite to win the final but David, in his own quiet way, is more than capable of pulling off a surprise.
