BANBRIDGE Town have been handed a tough draw against Armagh City in the first round of the Cooperative Insurance Cup.
Town will be at home in the first leg on Saturday August 30 (3pm) before travelling to Holm Park on Wednesday September 3 (7.45pm).
Linfield striker Glenn Ferguson, last season's cup final hero and Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington made t
he draw last Tuesday morning with the competition encompassing clubs in the IFA Championship for the first time.
The Co-operative Insurance Cup Round One first leg games will be played on Saturday 30 August with second leg ties on Wednesday September 3 with away goals counting double.
The eight winning clubs from Round One will progress to Round Two with matches again played on a home and away basis with the four successful clubs joining the IFA Premiership clubs in Round Three.
The Co-operative Insurance Cup Rounds Three and Four will also be played on a home and away basis, with away goals counting double. The Semi-Finals and Final will be one-off matches with extra-time and penalties, if required. The Co-operative Insurance Cup Final is scheduled to be played on Saturday 28 February at Windsor Park, Belfast.
ROUND ONE DRAW - QUALIFYING ROUND – TUESDAY 26 AUGUST - Glebe Rangers v Killymoon Rangers.
ROUND ONE - SATURDAY 30 AUGUST (FIRST LEG)/WEDNESDAY 3 SEPTEMBER (SECOND LEG) - Tobermore United v Larne, Limavady United v Coagh United, Armagh City v Banbridge Town, Carrick Rangers v Glebe Rangers or Killymoon Rangers, Portadown v Ballymoney United, Ballyclare Comrades v Dergview, Ards v Donegal Celtic, Loughgall V Ballinamallard United.
- THE Town have also been paired with Lurgan Town in the first round of the Bob Radcliffe Cup.
The tie is scheduled for Saturday September 6 at the Lurgan Town Arena.
