Andrews scoops four awards at Rathfern

CENTRE forward Colin Andrews collected four trophies as Rathfern Rangers held their annual Presentation Dinner at Nortel Social Club, Andrews picked up the Manager's, Players' and Supporters' Player of the Year awards, as well as the Leading Goalscorer's trophy.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Sloan was named manager's and players' choice as second team Player of the Year.

The awards were handed over by Mr Nigel Dodds, MP, MLA. Managers Ian Bustard (firsts) and Ronnie Stockard (seconds) announced the following winners.

First Team: Players Player of the Year - Colin Andrews; Manager's Player of the Year - Colin Andrews; Supporters' Player of the Year - Colin Andrews. Leading Goalscorer - Colin Andrews; 'Whinger' of the Year - Ian McGrath; Clubman of the Year - Gary Weir; 'Da Sugar' Merit Award - David McCrea jnr.

Second Team: Players' Player of the Year - Ronnie Sloan; Manager's Player of the Year - Ronnie Sloan; Leading Goalscorer - Matthew Benson. Whinger' of the Year - Dee McCombe/Willie Cruickshank.

There was a special presentation to Debbie Smyth and Deborah Stockard for all their hard work throughout the year, making sandwiches, washing the kit etc.

Chairman David McCrea (sen) presented outgoing manager Ian Bustard and his wife Michelle, with vouchers for a Meal for Two.

Mr McCrea also expressed his thanks to the club's main sponsors, the Pallet Centre, William Hill, Whitehouse Working Men's Club, Andy's Stores and John Reavey Solicitors. Mr McCrea also thanked Nigel Dodds for coming along to present the awards and the managers, coaches and players for all their efforts throughout the season.
