Another top ten finish for Gareth
Ballyclare's Gareth Maybin put in a stunning final round five under 67 at European Challenge Tour at the Challenge of Ireland in Glasson on Sunday.
It was not enough to win the event put pushed in the top ten for the fourth time this season just three shot off the winner Andrew Tampion from Australia who finished on eight under par 280.
Gareth started the day on level par after rounds of 70, 73, and 73 and his final round of 67 left him three shots adrift on 283 and joint ninth and a cheque for 3,300 euros.
This moves Gareth up two places in the European Challenge Tour rankings to 13th.
The Challenge Tour moves to Norway this week, however Gareth will take the week off and will make a guest appearance on Saturday night at Ballyclare Golf Club in a charity exhibition game along with fellow Challenge Tour Professional Michael Hoey, Ballyclare Club professional Colin Lyttle and Ballyclare Senior Cup player Simon McConnell.
