BOSS DELIGHTED WITH 'DOGGED' COMRADES WIN
BALLYCLARE Comrades manager Gordon Chambers was in buoyant mood following his side's fine 2-0 weekend win over Bangor in Championship 1.
"Three points, a clean sheet, and moving up a couple of places in the table, what more could I wish for?" he enthused.
"It was more of a dogged win rather than a classic one, but I was delighted that the lads kept their discipline while Bangor kept picking up yellow and red cards.
"Our comprehensive youth programme is beginning to pay off. I have known several of the lads since they were five or six years of age and Stuart McCullough epitomises the emerging talent that we have in the pipeline. With a few exceptions the average age of our panel on Saturday was under twenty, and they are all playing for the Ballyclare shirt.
"I hope that we produce a similar performance against Ards this weekend."
"We have Stuart Galbraith is still suspended for two more games, and Johnny Gowdy is in America, so the only addition to the panel will be Stevie McDowell who has completed his suspension,"he added.
