Derbies galore at Rathfriland

NEXT TUESDAY! - Next Tuesday, August 24, Rathfriland Rangers host Newcastle in another local derby in Division 1A of the Amateur League while the Swifts host Scarva Rangers in a league fixture at Ingram Park.

Another big crowd is expected for this one - both kick offs are 6.30pm.

TRAINING - Rathfriland FC training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm . Please note all players to be on pitch for 7pm. All new and existing players welcome.

FIXTURE BOARD FOR NEW SEASON - RANGERS : Tuesday August 17 – home to Downshire YM; Saturday August 21 – Home to Rathfern Rangers (Border Cup); Tuesday August 24 – home to Newcastle.

SWIFTS: Tuesday August 17 – home to Moneyslane; Saturday August 21 – away to Craigavon City (Marshall Cup); Tuesday August 24 – home to Scarva Rangers.

COLTS: Saturday September 4 – home to Newcastle III; Saturday September 11– home to Ballykinlar (Bobby Dalzell Cup).

RANGERS AT HOME IN BORDER CUP - This Saturday Rathfriland Rangers host Rathfern Rangers in the first round of the Border Cup. The visitors were narrowly beaten 1 – 0 in the league last week but in the cup anything can happen with the Division 1A outfit who will no doubt be out to confirm their superiority in league status in this cup fixture. Kick off 2pm at Iveagh Park.

SWIFTS FLY AWAY TO CITY - Rathfriland Swifts this Saturday travel to Craigavon City of Divison Three for a first round tie in the Marshall Cup. City are a strong team and will be out for a path to the second round although the Swifts will be looking to have their say in the matter. Kick off 2pm.
