FOOTBALL: Rangers in hunt for new boss

Amateur League outfit Rathfern Rangers are on the lookout for a new first-team manager.

While The Diamond boys finished a respectable ninth place in Division 1b, that doesn’t tell the full story as defeat in their final game at Donard Hospital would have seen them tumble through the relegation trap door.

Rathfern had lost half-a-dozen first-teamers during the close season, but it was injuries to David McBride and especially Gary Orr (with 68 goals in the last two campaigns) that were most keenly felt.

David McCrea expressed thanks to Bill Campbell for his efforts in his three years as first team manager, adding that he was pleased that he will be remaining at the club, helping out in some capacity.
