Hat-tricks by Josh McIlroy and Andy Forsythe were the highlight of the goal-fest in Belfast where Ballynure Old Boys thrashed Ballysillan Swifts 8-0 in the Ballymena and Provincial League Intermediate Division.

Junior Division 1: Two up and cruising, Ballyclare Comrades Reserves seemed on course for a win but after two players saw red, they had to settle for a 4-4 draw away to Mallusk Athletic.

A robust tackle earned Nathan Stranaghan a red in the 70th minute, and 12 minutes later Ryan McIlwaine followed him to the changing rooms for dissent.

It was a topsy-turvy Ballymena Junior League Division 1 fixture, with Athletic building up a two-goal lead in the opening quarter before the Reds gained control to lead 4-2 midway through the second half.
