COMPETING in the Belfast section of the Concentrix Small Sided Leagues, Carnmoney Girls commenced their U13 Group A campaign with a 3-1 victory over Coleraine Girls at Mallusk on Saturday.

A brace from Abbie McHenry and a goal from Holly Otter were enough to secure the three points.

Carnmoney Girls’ manager Steven Lowry said: “Our girls were super today, not just in the U13 section, but in all the groups we are competing in. The Concentrix Small Sided Leagues are a great opportunity for our players to have fun and enjoyment in a well-structured learning environment and we are extremely grateful to the IFA and NIWFA for delivering such a well organised league.”

A joint collaboration between the Irish Football Association and the Northern Ireland Women’s Football Association, the Concentrix Small Sided Leagues consist of two sections – Belfast and Mid Ulster, with over 40 teams between U9 and U15 taking part. In the U9 and U11 sections the emphasis is on fun and scores are not are kept.
