Ballyclare Comrades suffered their first home league defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon when they were edged out by Bangor at Dixon Park.

The Seasiders notched the only goal of the afternoon in this Championship 1 clash when Andy Hall struck with a left-foot shot from outside the area on 61 minutes.

The Reds had spurned the opportunity to take the lead during the first-half when Gerard McAlea’s 21st-minute spot-kick rattled the upright.

Johnny McClurg, recently returned from a few months in the United States of America, came close to a Ballyclare equaliser with a header nine minutes from time.

Ballyclare: Flood - Monteith, Getty (Forsythe), Doyle, Buckley - Smith (Mullholland), McAlea, McClurg, Gray - Trussell, Wilkinson. Subs not used: McGowan, Higgins.
