BALLYCLARE Comrades got their Championship 2 promotion charge back on track with a 6-0 romp at the expense of Sport & Leisure Swifts.

The opening goal in the 26th minute was worth waiting for. Shimmon cut in from the left, shrugged off a couple of tackles and rocketed one in to the far corner of the net before Nugent had time to blink.

The Reds were too hot to handle in the second sessio and in the 49th minute Simon McGowan doubled the lead from a penalty after Chris Monteith had been fouled.

Andy Simms got his name on the scorecard in the 63rd minute when he reacted fastest in the box to pounce on a loose ball and fire past Nugent.

McGowan converted his second spot-kick of the afternoon when Brown was up-ended in the box, and Shimmon added number five when he latched on to a long clearance and slipped the ball under Nugent as he advanced off his line.

Full-back Chris Monteith to complete the rout just before the final whistle, netting after Gerard McAlea had done the spadework.
