Ballyclare Comrades take on Dergview in the opening round of the IRN-BRU League Cup at Darragh Park tonight (7:45pm kick-off).

Reds boss Eddie Hill will be hoping his side can see off the Castlederg outfit for the right to host Newry City in the second round.

However, Hill is expected to be without the services of 13 players for the journey to Co. Tyrone.

Anthony Hill, Chris Monteith, Ricky Higgins and Marty McAvoy are injured while Andrew Doyle is serving a suspension. Darren Docherty, Gary Brown, Ross Earley, Stephen McDowell, Simon McGowan and Aaron Montgomery are unavailable due to work commitments. Craig Reid and Dan Lunney are on holiday.

Ballyclare’s Championship 2 campaign began on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Queen’s. In pre-season the Reds have been impressive against Premiership sides Glentoran, Ballymena United and Crusaders - the current League Cup holders.
