Ex-Ballyclare player Cooper - dubbed ‘Mourneview Messi’ - gets NI U21 call-up
Former Ballyclare Comrades player Joel Cooper has been called up to Northern Ireland’s Under-21 squad.
Cooper, who netted his first goal for Glenavon in their 3-0 win over Warrenpoint at Milltown on Saturday, has caught the eye of boss Jim Magilton.
Described by fans as the ‘Mourneview Messi’, Cooper heard the news that he had been included in the squad on Monday.
The Under-21s face Scotland at Mourneview Park on September 5 and are away to Iceland three days later.
