Second-placed Carrick Rangers have the chance to send out a real signal of intent if they can get the better of Niall Currie’s Ards at Taylor’s Avenue. A win would see Gary Haveron’s men open up a four-point gap over their opponents.

Larne, meanwhile, have the opportunity to kickstart their league campaign when they entertain Dundela at Inver Park. Both sides have just one win from four games played, but with home advantage, Davy McAlinden’s men will be aiming bag all three points.

Ballyclare Comrades lost 5-2 to Cliftonville in the opening round of the County Antrim Shield on Tuesday and they face a tricky trip to Dergview today.

Last season Ballyclare did the double over the County Tyrone men with a 2-0 away win in October followed by a thumping 5-1 victory at Dixon Park in April.
