Grange Rangers moved up to third place in the Amateur League Division 2C table after a nervy 5-3 victory in Donaghadee.

In the proverbial game of two halves, Grange found themselves 5-0 ahead after 37 minutes thanks to goals from Phil Gregg (three), Robert McFall and an own goal.

However, the second half was a completely different game as the County Down side rallied to pull back three goals. Only some last-ditch defending, along with some smart saves by Mark Deegan prevented them from adding to their tally.

Rangers manager Stephen King said: “It was a nail-biting finish after we surrendered control in the second half and at the end I was delighted when we held on to come away with an important three points.”

Grange Rangers: Deegan; McFall, Gault, Johnstone; Gregg, White, Thompson (c), McCoy, Tiago; King, McGookin. Subs Leitch, Boyle, McMullan.
