Michael Jamison has taken over as manager of Amateur League side 18th Newtownabbey Old Boys until the end of the season.

Michael has been a player for the Monkstown-based club for the past few seasons, but has had to sit things out this term after he picked up a troublesome ankle last March.

Since then he has been helping Robert Stewart with the second-team. “I’m happy to give it a go, for the rest of the season anyway,” he said.

“I know the players, I know the club and I’ve been helping out with the Seconds. I’ll try and help them out as best I can.”

Jamison succeeds Garry Campbell who quit the club earlier in December after 18 months in the hot-seat.
