Kids get their kicks at IFA Grassroots Soccer camps

BOYS and girls in Newtownabbey are set for a summer full of football fun! The Irish FA’s Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools programme is running in the local area during the months of July and August.

Co-ordinated by the Irish FA’s Grassroots Development Officers and staffed by qualified coaches, the Soccer Schools are the ideal way to get your children active over the summer months. The grassroots programme is for boys and girls from 5 to 14 years of age and of all abilities.

Irish FA Grassroots Development Officer (Newtownabbey and Antrim), Steven Livingstone, said: “I would really encourage all parents to get their kids along to one of the Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools. The children are guaranteed to develop their skills, learn new skills, meet new friends and, most importantly, have a great time.”

Steven added: “This year the Irish FA will be looking for 50 players who stand out throughout the country to come along to a special “Search for a Star” event. On that day there will be a series of skills challenges used to identify the next George Best, David Healy or Jonny Evans. And at the end of the day two winners will be selected to receive a year sponsorship from the Irish FA along with boots and tracksuits for training.”
