For the third time this season Ballyclare Comrades failed to pick up points on the road after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Lisburn Distillery.

Having already lost away to Carrick Rangers and Dundela, manager Eddie Hill challenged his players to avoid an unwanted hat-trick at Lisburn Distillery, but his warnings were in vain.

A Peter Whan header midway through the second-half, sealed the Championship points that lifted the Whites to fifth spot, while the Reds remain just below the halfway mark.

Ballyclare Comrades: Flood; Doherty, Getty, Forsythe, Buckley; Agnew (Wilkinson 73), McAlea, McGowan (McCart 57), Simms; Gray (Smith 65), Trussell. Subs not used: Doyle, Monteith.
