Mossley Ladies put 10 past Instonians

Mossley Ladies went into their final game before the Christmas break against Instonians recently, keen to improve on their teamwork and looking forward to getting stuck into the second half of the season.

They soon got into full swing against the Belfast side, with seven goals without reply in the first half. The goals came courtesy of Amye Wallace, Carla McCoubrey and Kathryn Lorimer.

The Glade girls continued at the same pace with three more in the second session. Anna Glassey and Sophie Adams found the net, before the prolific Lorimer scored again.

Notable performances came from Rachel Lynas, playing out of position in defence, and Wallace who gave 100 per cent throughout the game. The scoreline finished 10-0, but credit must be given to the excellent Instonians goalkeeper who made plenty of saves to deny Mossley even more goals.

Meanwhile, Mossley Ladies’ Seconds defeated their Coleraine counterparts 1-0 at UUJ thanks to an Amy Blair strike.

Coleraine fought back, but were kept at bay by the home defence, led by the commanding Laura Blair. Girl of the Game was shared by Zara McIlwaine and Sarah Craig.
