Amateur League: Rathfern Rangers were in Division 1B action on Saturday, moving up to third in 1B following a 4-0 victory over one of manager Bill Campbell’s old clubs, second-bottom Grove United.

Rangers were convincing in the end, but were indebted to an early second-half save from keeper Scott Hamilton to protect their 2-0 lead at the Diamond.

Grove might have made better use of three dangerous crosses towards the end of the first-half.

Rathfern’s marksmen were Gary Orr, Alan Kerby, David Moore and Steven Logan.
