“We have chalked up two 4-0 wins on the trot and taking on a top team like Ards is what the players are now looking forward to; they all want to play in the big games,” said Reds’ boss Eddie Hill.

“Ards are just down from the Premiership and are on course to bounce straight back up.

“Certainly they will be a major test, but after putting together two consecutive clean sheets, I can assure the fans that we are up for it.”

Hill added: “We had to work hard to get out of our losing rut and now we are ready to build on these two wins.

“During our losing streak the lads never lost confidence. They believed in themselves and eventually their effort and commitment has been rewarded, and we are ready to move on.”

Summing up Saturday’s victory against PSNI, he commented: “We were billed as favourites against the bottom team and when we scored the third goal just after the break it was done and dusted.

“For the first time this season I was able to put out an unchanged back four and that is reflected in the scoresheet. Except for Kyle Agnew coming in for Gary Brown we were unchanged, so that meant Randal Reid held on to the jersey, with top scorer Chris Trussell on the bench.

“With no injuries to contend with, it will be much of the same this weekend, so here’s hoping our fans will be out in force.”
