There was disappointment for Nortel at the Factory Grounds on Saturday as they exited the Irish Cup, losing 2-0 to Drumaness Mills.
Nortel had the better of the first half offerings, with Craig Caughey, Timothy Clarke and Adam Irwin foiled by keeper Ryan Walsh.
Stand-in goalkeeper, Dale Fenner, was at fault as the Premier Division’s only unbeaten side took the lead, when he somehow failed to keep out Anthony McGrattan’s innocent looking 35-yarder.
The second half was mostly a case of both sides cancelling each other out, until Drum’s Brian McIlmurray nodded in a corner eight minutes from time.
Nortel: Fenner – D Anderson (Greer), Cardwell, A Anderson, Freyne – Caughey (Hamill), Lenaghan, Herron, T Clarke – Simpson, Irwin (Cowan).
