It was awards time for City of Belfast golfers at the weekend.

Thomas Lavery picked up the big prize of Player of the Year at the Mallusk club’s end-of-season dinner in the Lansdowne Hotel on Saturday evening (April 2).

The Most Improved Player of the Year trophy went to Des Callaghan, while outgoing club captain Paddy Ward presented a cheque for £2,016 to Linda Robinson, chief executive of Age NI. The money was raised by club members during the 2015/16 season.

Stephen Gardiner has been named as captain for 2016-17.
