Academy Cricket Club, the Junior Cup specialists with four wins in the past decade, are through to another final following a dramatic bowl-out win over North Down II.

Play got under way on time at Castle Grounds on Sunday (July 27) and the visitors were in deep trouble after David Greenlees and Waqas Mohammad had dismissed Ross Ewing and Alistair Shields to reduce them to 12 for 2 after five overs.

David Graham (21) and Scott Irvine (two) were in the process of staging a recovery, but with the score at 26 for 2 in the 12th over, a prolonged shower that lasted an hour-and-a-half resulted in the semi-final being abandoned, and this triggered the bowl-out ruling.

Strikes by Greenlees and Michael Harte secured the 2-0 win, and a place in the final on August 9 against Lisburn II at Moylena.
