ATHLETICS: Top funding for rising stars

Two local athletes have received funding from the prestigious Mary Peters Trust.

Matthew Elliott and Lauren Strange were among 80 athletes from across Northern Ireland to receive a share of the £42,000 funding.

The money will help to support and accelerate their sporting careers. In addition to financial support, the athletes were invited with their parents, coaches and sports body representatives to attend the Trust’s biannual Athlete Academy.
