Maybin and Hoey star attractions at Ballyclare Charity golf challenge

A big crowd is expected at Ballyclare Golf Club on Saturday, 9th August for a very special challenge exhibition match which is due to tee-off at 5.00 pm.

The attraction will be the duo which represented Ireland in last years Golf world cup held in China – the professionals Michael Hoey form Belfast and Ballyclare's Gareth Maybin.

They are expected to play in a fun exhibition match against the club professional Colin Lyttle who was second in last years Ulster order of merit and one of the club's leading amateurs Simon McConnell.

The overall organiser of what should be a really entertaining evening of golf is former club captain and owner of the fiver Corners Guest Inn Max McConnell and wife Heather.

The golf challenge is being held to raise money for the Natasha Falls fund. Natasha is a 14 months old girl who has been diagnosed with a form of re chromosome disorder – she cannot talk, roll, crawl or even use her hands and is fed via a feeding tube.

A major concern is that she suffers from severe epilepsy causing daily seizures.

150,000 is needed to get Natasha to the Children's memorial Hospital in Chicago where Dr. Nordil has advanced diagnostic equipment required to carry out special scans. Max and heather McConnell have organised a fund-raising event in Ballyclare Golf club on Friday, 8th August as well as the charity challenge on Saturday evening.
