While many used the weekend to do last-minute Christmas shopping and preparations, County Antrim Harriers were out racing!

Seven Harriers, complete with festive gear, travelled to Tollymore, County Down, for the fourth race in the popular Born 2 Run ‘Run Forest Run’ 10k trail series.

Graeme O’Hara was first home for the club in a great time of 48:23, with Raymond Hilman (58:07) crossing the line next.

Talitha Collins (1:07:56) and Martina Toal (1:14:46), and Eileen Stewart (1:17:51) also ran well.

Marion Morrow and Kim Gleeve crossed the line together (1:21:35).

Also on Saturday, the clubs most enthusiastic cross country athletes competed in the North West 6k event, at Gransha, Londonderry. Both Christine Murray and Natasha Henderson ran strongly, finishing well in 27:27 and 27:50 respectively.

On Sunday, seven Harrier ladies travelled to Camlough, for the annual ‘Race Around the Lake’. The seven-mile off-road course has lots of undulations and takes runners around the outskirts of the Camlough Lake.

Natasha Henderson was delighted to win second female overall. Also running strongly were Louise Smart, Irene Downey, Carol Annseley, Paula McMaster, Christine Neeson and Eileen Stewart.

On the parkrun scene, the club was represented at five different locations across County Antrim. Special mention goes to Grace Montgomery, Nigel Hamilton and Jennifer Moore who ran personal bests.
