A local man is set to compete in the finals of a top UK-wide cycling competition next month in London.

Amateur cyclist Nick Ryles finished as one of the highest ranked competitors in the UK StreetVelodrome Series stage in Ballyclare.

Nick, who works at Chain Reaction Cycles in Doagh, will be taking part in the SuperFinals at Buckingham Palace in July. Caroline Patterson will also be competing in London.

Over 300 people showed off their skills on the StreetVelodrome track as part of the Ballyclare Festival of Cycling. At the event at the Sixmile Leisure Centre, people had the chance to learn new bike skills and receive bike safety information.
