Defending champions Galacticos see off Alpha

Carrick and District Pool League champions Greenisland Galacticos travelled to Alpha with three new signings in their ranks and made short work of the evening winning 11-3.

The Carson brothers, Steven and Chris, both bagged hat-tricks in the midweek match, along with league veteran John McLean. Despite defeat, Alpha played some very good pool with Johnny Willis impressing on his debut.

The Swift moved to the top of the table on frame difference with a 12-2 win over Warriors, with braces for D. Irwin, A. Arbuthnot, K. Kirkwood and captain, P. Roberts.

Doagh Weapons ripped through the Cowboys winning 10-4 with hat-tricks for Ian Britton and debut boy Rab McCullough and a brace from Wayne Lewis.

The Scorpions faced their first real challenge of the season against Hit Men & Her and they didn’t disappoint winning 7 in a row to claim a 9-5 win.

The Spartans travelled to the Teddy Bears and won 9-5. Best for the visitors was K. English 2/2, W. Irvine 2/2.

Whitehead Trojans entertained four-man GWMSC, edging to an 8-6 success.

Greenisland Colts lost at home to Eastway. Trevor Greer’s hat-trick was the catalyst for a 10-4 victory.
