Des produces some magic to win Captain’s Day at Mallusk

The wind and rain didn’t dampen the spirits at Stephen Gardiner’s Captain’s Day at City of Belfast Golf Club, Mallusk on Saturday, July 2.

The overall winner was Des ‘Mr Majestyck’ Callaghan with a fine score of 37pts.

Other prize winners included: Best Gross, Thomas Lavery; Low Section winner, Conor Devlin; Mid Section winner, Colin Brown; High section winner, Brian Anderson; Best front nine, Duncan Elder; Best back nine, Nigel Dallas; Visitors prize, George Martin; Past Captains’ Cup, Darran Long; Senior Cup, Colin Brown.

Money was raised on the day for the captain’s charity, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

“I would like to thank all the staff and everyone who helped make the day a great success. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves,” Stephen commented.

“I would also like to thank Alderman Jim Rodgers for coming along to the prize presentation and giving us the good news that Belfast City Council is going to invest in further improvements at the course.”
