Parkview Ladies are champions - but only after a dramatic penalty shootout in Friday’s Senior 4 play-off against Instonians.

The teams squared up at Deramore Park where a Claire Patterson strike secured the 1-1 draw after extra-time.

Then experienced goalkeeper Maimie Graham stole the show saving all three Instonians flicks, while Emma Stubbs, Emma Bothwell and Patterson secured the 3-0 win.

Reflecting on the win, coach Becky Linford said: “I am very proud of the girls; their determination and desire to win got their just rewards, and I am very pleased with the improvement in skills during the season, and we should cope well in Senior 3 next year.”

The league trophy was presented to skipper Tammy Gamble. On Friday Parkview take part in Hockey Finals Night at Stormont, where they play PSNI Ladies in the final of the Senior Plate.
