Parkview Ladies got their Senior 4 campaign off to a winning start with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against PSNI Ladies on Saturday.

First-half goals by Natalie Cahoon and Toni Smallwood had the locals in command at George Avenue at the interval and despite a second half recovery by the Newforge girls, they held out for a 2-1 win.

Cahoon opened the scoring in the fifth minute when she cut inside and drilled the ball into the net after Clare McClean and Jenna Oliphant had brought the ball in to the circle.

The hosts deservedly doubled the lead, when Smallwood dribbled through the defence for a fine solo score.

In the second session three penalty corners were conceded in quick succession and from the third PSNI reduced the deficit.
