Following relegation Parkview Ladies are now concentrating on bringing younger players in to the senior scene.

Last season they were indebted to several former players who came out of retirement in order to ensure that all Senior League fixtures were fulfilled, but already plans are afoot to put more emphasis on youth.

Junior hockey practices start on Wednesday, June 18 at Ballyclare High School grounds, where a warm welcome awaits any young girls interested in improving their hockey skills.

“The sessions will be weekly from 7 pm until 8 pm when qualified coaches will be in charge, and I hope that they will be well attended,” said club PRO, Clare McClean.

“We will be fielding two teams again each weekend in the new season, and having lost several regulars last season there will be opportunities for newcomers,” she stressed.

At the recent AGM the following office-bearers were elected for 2014-15:

President, Christine Turkington; Chairperson, Wilma McCullough; Honorary Secretary, Emma Stubbs; Match Secretaries, Clare McClean and Lauren Brady; Honorary Treasurer, Caroline Coulter; Public Relations Officer, Clare McClean; Junior Hockey Officers, Jenny Rankin and Cathy Morrison.
