Carrick and District Pool League: Greenisland Galacticos went frame for frame with Whitehead Spartans and, with the scores locked at 6-6, Stephen Carson stepped up to complete his hat-trick and make sure of a point for the champions. Kenny English made sure of a share of the points, taking the last game to draw 7-7.
Leaders The Swift continued their fine run with a 9-5 success against Monkstown outfit, Hitmen and Her.
For the second week running, Scorpions made short work of their opponents. This time it was Greenisland Colts who were under their spell of the second-placed side in a 12-2 defeat.
The Cowboys bagged an 8-6 win at Whitehead Trojans. The McMurtry clan put in a steady shift taking both sessions 4-3, with hat-tricks for both Hugh and Roy.
Clare Roberts’ Warriors played host to Greenisland Working Men’s Club and were up against it from the word go with the visitors running out 5-2 winners in both sessions. Stuart Lennon made the most of the evening taking a fine hat-trick. Best for the visitors: Joe Patton 3/3, Andy Galloway 2/3, Michael Lowry 2/3 and Rab Brown 2/2.
It was derby night in Rathcoole as Eastway got the better of rivals Alpha. D. Flanagan and R. Whiteside produced well-taken hat-tricks in a 10-4 win.
The Teddy Bears played host to Doagh Weapons and the visitors got off to a flying start, taking the first session 5-2. Doagh’s talisman, Iain Britton, landed a hat-trick, while Wayne Lewis chipped in with a solid brace and John Barrons rounded things off with a hat-trick of his own.
