Motorcycling: Reid aims to conquer Indy Circuit '˜hoodoo'
The Jordanstown rider has won two of the opening three British Supersport races this season, which has afforded him a 16-point championship lead coming into this weekend at Brands Hatch.
The 1.2079-mile short track at the Kent venue hasn’t been one of Reid’s most successful venues previously, but it’s something the 22-year-old is looking to rectify on Saturday and Sunday.

The nature of the circuit and the short lap means there is always quite a bit if traffic to negotiate in qualifying.
“This year I’m on a new bike with a new team in the Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki set-up – so I’m going there to rectify that ‘not such a great circuit for Andy Reid’ scenario. Last time out at Oulton we grabbed the feature race win, but seventh place in the Sprint Race, for me personally, wasn’t great. It was points in the bag in difficult circumstances, but the goal this weekend is fifty points and that means two wins.
“We have a month’s break after this weekend but I’ll be kept busy with some more PR work, attending World Superbike next weekend, and I’m looking forward to attending a Cool Milk Fab Racing event to meet all the kids in the Mini-Bike championship later this month. On top of that there will be plenty of training as we then look ahead to round four at Knockhill in Scotland, but for now I want to conquer that little track at Brands Hatch. I’m looking forward to it.”
