East Antrim rider Nikki Coates was back on the bike in the British Superbikes Series’ Pirelli 1000 Superstock class at the weekend.
It was his first outing since injury in the opening round of the series. He finished 21st on the Moto Breakers Kawasaki.
“Even though the results were not what we wanted, we did make a bit of progress,” the Doagh man told the Times.
“It was always going to be hard as I hadn’t ridden the bike since Easter. To finish 21st from 37th on the grid was OK, and I feel the more laps I get on the bike the results will get better.
“As usual, the team did a great job and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
