Ballyclare’s Jamie Hamilton will make his debut on the Wilson Craig Hondas at the MCRRCI Easter Saturday short circuit meeting at Bishopscourt.
He will ride both the Supersport 600 and 1000cc Superbike. It’s his first competitive outing on the machines, it’s all a bit of an unknown quantity.
“I always enjoy the Easter meeting but this will be my first outing on the Wilson Craig’s Hondas I will probably treat it as a test time for bikes,” Hamilton told the Times.
“To be honest, I haven’t even seen the bikes yet. Also, the regular guys here at nationals have had a few races under their belts and are at a high standard already.
“It’s a big ask to jump on a bike straight away and beat those guys, but if I’m happy on the bike and get them feeling how I want, nothing is impossible.”
Organisers say the Easter Festival Races have attracted one of the best entries in recent years.
Irish Superbike champion Nico Mawhinney will be trying to secure another piece of silverware but Hamilton along with David Haire, Stephen Thompson, Cody Nally, Denver Robb, Alistair Kirk, Mark Glasgow and 2013 Superbike Cup Champion Phil McGrath to name a few, will not be letting Mawhinney have it all his way. If conditions are good these boys could produce one of the best and closest Enkalon Races for many a year. Both legs of the Superbike races count towards the trophy.
Sixteen riders, including Hamilton, will compete in the Supersport class.
