Newtownabbey rider Jay McCrum took the honours in all three races at round three of the Ulster Motocross Championship at Gortnavern, Donegal on Saturday.

Despite the wash-out conditions, the BRA student powered his ‘fonacab’ 250 KTM to a hat-trick of wins in the premier class.

Jay said: “I was so glad to see the chequered flag as the conditions were almost unridable.”

The 15-year-old now enjoys a 38-point lead in the Ulster Championship. Next up is Jay’s first race in the adult class when he will compete in the Carrick Club’s grasstrack at Dalway’s Bawn on Wednesday, May 22.
