Holders Ballyclare High were knocked out of the Senior Schools’ Cup on penalty strokes by Victoria College at Lisnagarvey on Wednesday.

The High School, who had booked their spot in the semi-final with a strokes win over Methodist College in the last eight, lost 5-4 in yesterday’s shoot-out after a tense 1-1 draw.

Victoria College will now go on to face last year’s beaten finalists, Lurgan College, in the showpiece.

Ballyclare took the lead in the match when Zoe Wilson converted from a penalty-corner in the 34th minute on for Victoria’s Gemma Hool to level matters with 16 minutes to go. After 20 minutes of extra-time, it was the Belfast school who held their nerve to progress on flicks.
