ULSTER lock Lewis Stevenson this week signed a contract extension with the club.

It means the big second-row, a former Ballyclare High pupil, will stay at Ravenhill until at least the summer of 2016.

Stevenson, originally from Ballynure, has produced some superb displays for the Province this season and his performances earned him a call-up to Ireland’s extended training squad ahead of the Six Nations.

The 28-year-old, who has played 39 times for the Ravenhill men, took to Twitter to show his appreciation for the support shown to him by local fans.

“Thanks for all the messages, really happy to have signed on again,” he wrote.
