Seapatrick's failure to take chances proves costly

IF you don't take your chances in football you don't win games.
Seapatrick had enough chances to win three or four games on Saturday but still managed to end up on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.
Crewe United came to Crystal Park without an away point all season so the Village were certainly optimistic especially after they went 1-0 up after six minutes.
Paul Fearon was upended in the box and Steve Jones cooly converted from the spot. Although the story of Seapatricks season were they can't hold onto a lead was to come true yet again.
A needless free kick was given away 20 yards out and their number eight stepped forward to easily convert. Crewe's second came from another set piece a corner was hit in near post and as McStravick lost his marker he stooped low to head into the back of the net.
Seapatrick went on wave after wave of attack and both Curley and Fearon should have done better when well placed. The Village did get themselves back into it Damien Curley and Steve Jones combined well and Paul Fearon had the simplest task of tapping in.
However with five minutes to go the cruelest of goals was to occur. Goalkeeper Fletcher’s clearance cannoned of Greene and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
Worse was to follow with the last touch Seapatrick were to get of the ball. Mark McCallum scored a perfectly headed corner which the referee disallowed.
At the end of the day Seapatrick just didn't take their chances.
