Templepatrick Cricket Club’s 1st XI narrowly missed out on a win over NCU Section 1 leaders Muckamore on Saturday, losing by just two runs.

The Ballyclare-based side gave the former Premier League outfit a real scare, but they held on to claim the narrowest of victories.

According to Templepatrick skipper, Ricky Greer, the standard of bowling and fielding was superb and it looked as if his team was on its way to being the first side to win at the Antrim venue.

Such was their frustration at not sealing the deal, TCC’s overseas player Warren Clunes tweeted: “Abosutely gutted. Bowl best team in the league out for 147 and can’t chase it down.”
