Three weeks without a game for Academy

Have your say

FOR the third weekend in succession Academy Cricket had no game at the weekend, but club secretary Jack Quinn is not unduly concerned.

“Despite the postponement of the weekend’s two league fixtures against BISC and Templepatrick we are only four games behind schedule, with Armagh and Drumaness the other two outstanding games.

“We have already arranged to play Armagh this coming Sunday, and that would leave us with only three fixtures to rearrange.

“Given favourable weather conditions we could clear them off by playing on Saturdays and Sundays throughout July.

“Meantime we have been toppled from pole position in the Senior League Section 2 with Cooke Collegians now at the top with 18 points from five outings.

“We share second spot with Armagh, each having fulfilled five fixtures while accumulating 16 points, but there is a long way to go before the promotion places are decided,” added Jack.

Saturday’s fixture is against Millpark at Castle Grounds.
