More than 190 boys and girls took part in Templepatrick Cricket Club’s annual Under-11 blitz and family fun day on Sunday, June 8.
Young cricketers from the home club were joined by players from CIYMS, Instonians, Muckamore and Civil Service North to play a series of Kwik Cricket matches.
TCC cricket development officer, Andy McCrea, said the annual event for P1 to P7 boys and girls had been a great success.
“It was fantastic to see so many children at The Cloughan enjoying playing cricket. There were some great skills on show.
“Thankfully the weather held for most of the afternoon and everyone involved had a great day.
“Our thanks go to everyone who helped with the organisation of the event and particularly to the coaches and players from Muckamore, CIYMS, Civil Service North and Instonians for accepting our invitation.”
TCC offers coaching sessions for U11 boys and girls (P1 - P7) on Wednesday evenings between 6.30 pm and 8 pm.
The day finished with an over-45s game between Templepatrick and Maghera CC.
The visitors hit 137 in their 25 overs. TCC fell 20 runs short, scoring a total of 117.
