Ballyclare student Judith Neill left Northern Ireland on Friday (September 2) to follow her dreams of becoming a West End star by commencing her musical theatre training at the Performance Preparation Academy in Guilford.
The intensive one year course aims to prepare students for application to university and private college training for a further three year degree course.
As the one year course at the Academy is not accredited in terms of diploma or degree level, Judith was not eligible for any assistance with fees, living expenses or accommodation. So, as a means of trying raise money towards her expenses, she organised a benefit concert for family and friends on August 25.
After some anxieties over where to hold the event, Mr Raymond Leeman, Principal of Monkstown Community School, very kindly offered the school’s main hall, complete with lighting effects.
Judith and her family expressed their thanks all those who attended and enjoyed a fantastic evening of song and dance.
