Get those buckets and spades at the ready for Shoreline competition

Loughshore Park will host the annual Shoreline Festival featuring family fun and activities during the coming August Bank Holiday weekend.

The three-day festival promises to bring fun and excitement with many fun activities to keep all ages entertained.

Saturday August 25 and Sunday, August 26 will see the arrival of Blackberry Farm for the first time at the Shoreline Festival. Children will have the opportunity to hold and feed animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, ducklings, hens and Pygmy goats.

Returning for another year on Monday, August 27, is the TACT Wildlife Centre bringing everything from creepy crawlies to owls. Children will be able to get up close to these animals and learn more about them and the environments they live in.

A Family Fun Zone with bouncy castles, arts and crafts and a fun fair will run on each of the three days of the festival while a variety of live music concerts will feature each evening.

This year also sees the inclusion of a sandcastle building competition on Saturday, August 25 from 2pm to 3pm. The theme for the competition will be traditional sandcastles with a twist. Put together a team and show off your creative flair by building original and imaginative sand sculptures for a chance to win one of the prizes up for grabs!

The Shoreline Festival will run from Saturday, August 25 to Monday, August 27, with most events being free to the general public. Each night will play host to a variety of live music concerts with the return of the ‘Classics in the Park’ on the Monday night followed by a spectacular fireworks display to mark the end of the festival.

Families of all ages and sizes are encouraged to go along and enjoy one of the last opportunities of summer fun before school starts back.
