REPORTS have surfaced that a major Hollywood production could be filmed in Mallusk.
It’s been reported that producers behind a remake of Bram Stoker’s horror Dracula are considering using one of the vacant warehouse units in the area for filming.
It’s rumoured Hollywood A-lister Javier Bardem, who starred in the latest James Bond film and won an Oscar for his role in No Country for Old Men, has been lined up to play the lead role.
The film, it’s rumoured, has an estimated budget in excess of $100million (£66million) and a six to eight-month long shoot could provide a much-needed boost to business across the borough.
If it goes ahead the production could be the biggest in Northern Ireland burgeoning film-making history.
It’s believed Universal Studios are behind the production, however, they did not respond to the Times request for information.
