PUPILS from Hazelwood Integrated College visited Belfast’s Titanic Quarter recently for an IT careers information event.
The Bring IT On roadshow is organised by Momentum, The ICT Federation for Northern Ireland, in collaboration with numerous e-commerce organisations and government departments.
It provides information about the skills requirements and career opportunities with the IT sector in Northern Ireland and why a career in the industry can be very attractive.
Students attending are offered guidance on the selection of appropriate subjects at GCE level, and are given an insight into studying computing at college and university.
Pupils from Hazelwood joined with students from across Northern Ireland in the Belfast Met campus where they were given a lively demonstration from staff in the college’s School of Electrical, Electronics and Computing Technologies.
The content of the Bring IT On events has been designed and delivered in conjunction with local universities and colleges.
Welcoming the success of the Belfast event, Ian Graham of Momentum said: “These fun and interactive events help to highlight the importance of maths and science and how these subjects underpin a successful and rewarding career in IT.”
